Disney Orange Bird History ~ 10 Fun Facts
The Disney Orange Bird is an eye-catching fellow. So much so that when reading our new Figment Little Golden Book recently my three-year-old granddaughter pointed the tiny orange character out hiding in a tree. “Oh look, Nana, there’s a sweet little bird”, she exclaimed. While the story was about our beloved purple friend, Disney’s Orange Bird was clearly noticed.
So, who exactly is this little Orange Bird? Where did this sunshiny little fellow come from? And what is his backstory? He has a colorful, though a bit obscure, history at Walt Disney World. Believe it or not, it goes back to when Walt Disney World opened in 1971. Although, this bright little Disney World exclusive character isn’t quite as well known as the purple pigmented Figment, he is just as adored.

You may have noticed Disney Orange Bird’s round head and big eyes on Disney merchandise and wondered where it came from. If you did, you are not alone.
